Following completion of a four year degree in Biology at
Queen’s
University, Sonya completed another four years
of graduate study
at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, which
is one of two schools in Canada eligible to grant the designation of Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.). Following graduation she completed the
North American Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations
(NPLEX),
Ontario board examinations, and maintains membership
with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and
the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors. She is licensed by
the provincial government’s Board of Directors
of Drugless
Therapy – Naturopathy.
Sonya regularly contributes health articles to various local and national publications. You may read some of her articles on her website here.
Sonya has participated in several government healthcare initiatives,
including Health Canada’s Health Professional Information on Climate Change Advisory Committee, and the South East Local Health Integration Network Citizen’s Panel
on healthcare.
